Robert Collier has been an active painter since 1976 creating works of art in the Realist Tradition. Producing works in impressionist style inspired by this native New England landscape. Collier started painting in oils under the guidance of Richard Whitney, a nationally recognized painter of oils and landscapes. Collier paints using the pastel medium feeling the vibrant colors allow greater flexibility and expressiveness. He enjoys pastel, and achieves paintings that are bold and rich in color yet soft and fresh. Pastel has led to the study and collaboration with Herman Margulies, the former director of the Pastel Society of America. His
work has been shown in numerous exhibitions including the Annual Pastel
Only Exhibition and the 11th annual Salmagundi Art Exhibition both in
New York. |
